My name is Beri Kirsh, and I am looking for a companion for my cockatoo, WILD.
WILD is a 13-year-old Yellow-crested Cockatoo who has been living with me for the past 5 years. I adopted him after his previous owners were no longer able to care for him properly. Unfortunately, his wings were poorly clipped by them, which led to the flight feathers being damaged and not growing back properly, leaving him unable to fly. Since joining me, WILD has been a loyal companion and even accompanied me during a full relocation to Europe. Which only to relocate him cost me about 2000€ what can show you that I will never leave him no matter how hard life is, he is my sun shine.
WILD stay's at night in a spacious room of about 4.5 x 3 meters, with a ceiling height ranging from 1 to 3 meters. The room is furnished with a bed, a dresser, and a hanging wardrobe, providing a safe and free space for him to move around. He has a play area that measures around 2 x 1 meters, which includes chew toys made of wood, noise toys, and other interactive items. I regularly add and replace his toys and equipment, some of which I build myself, while others I purchase, always keeping in mind WILD's needs and preferences.
WILD comes out of the room whenever I do, and we spend quality time together watching movies, playing, and bonding. He knows basic commands, such as greeting with his hand, stepping up on command, and putting on his harness with joy – depending on his mood.
During my work hours, WILD comes along and have a spacious aviary that is 3 m long 2 m width and 2.6 m high the aviary as an outdoor aviary and have a magnificent view and a lot if interaction around him
WILD is a curious bird who enjoys going on trips and discovering new places with me. However, he is not particularly fond of strangers or dogs, and he keeps his distance in a calm and non-aggressive manner. He adapts well to changes in the environment and has no additional health issues apart from the wing damage.
WILD generally does not show signs of jealousy or stress when other birds are present in his environment. He remains calm and non-aggressive, allowing for the presence of other parrots without significant behavioral changes or distress.
I believe a companion will enrich WILD’s life, provide him with natural companionship, and help him continue to develop emotionally and physically. With time, he may even regain some ability to fly, and I can begin training him for free-flight exercises.
I am open to adopting any type of parrot, with a preference for a female cockatoos.
In my understanding you recently got in your position a double yellow headed Amazon Wich I am sure can be a suitable partner for wild
It is also important to mention that I am always looking to expand and improve WILD's living space, adding new challenges, mental stimulation, and physical activities that suit both him and a potential companion. I would be grateful for any advice, recommendations, or professional guidance regarding his well-being and how to further enhance his environment.
For your convenience, I have attached pictures of WILD, his room, and his play area, as well as some moments from our daily life.
I am available for any further questions, additional information, or even an in-person meeting if necessary.
I really appreciate a reply asap wild needs a partner that is not human so please give us the chance to be a loving home for one more parrot
Best regards,
Beri Kirsh
